blackout

Last night, about half before midnight, a blackout happened so I was forced to fix myself early and sleep earlier than usual.

So there I go. I closed my laptop, brushed my teeth, washed my face and went upstairs to sleep. I also opened the electric fan just in case, and also opened the windows of my bedroom, hoping for some air to peek in. But thanks to my handy dandy fan, I kind of made it through the first few minutes of summer heat. I then proceeded to my nightly ritual of praying before hitting the sack and so I prayed to God and included the electricity to be back as soon as possible because the heat is taking on its toll on me. And then, after several minutes, the electricity is back again.

“Thank goodness” I said to myself.

I then realized that the blackout is only 13 minutes. I expected it to be a bit longer like two hours, which would really irritate me because it’s summer and it’s hot and here I am on this hot summer night, wishing to sleep early and soundly but have no electricity so I have to be more patient. But I really thank God for the soon recovery of electricity. It had been a very sound sleep indeed. heh.
