In time I’ve realized that there are really no prince charmings riding in a white horse, no risk being done can prove how much you love a person, and lastly, true love’s kiss will not release anyone from an evil queen’s magic spell.
This is real world. No fairy godmothers, no talking fish best friend, no king that has a magical triton can transform you and save you. The only truth in fairytales are the presence of damsels and princes in distress. Real world is so much about saving another person and most of the time, it means saving your own.
It is about being brave and taking the risk even if you end up losing. Fighting your inner demons, fighting what everybody else thinks of you, and most importantly, fighting what you think you cannot do.
The world is a big, big playground. Anything and everything can happen. Our lives may not change in a flicker of a wand, but it can change in just a snap, without us even realizing it. It’s a big book ahead of us, pages unfolding everyday as we breath.
The choices we made, the mistakes we commit, the successes we triumph over, those are temporary. What lasts are our feelings of happiness, and yes, even sadness too. But we are the choices we make. We are how we act upon our fate. We have the key to be happy. And even though each day may be a battle, we can still choose to be happy.
So even if there aren’t any magic spells to help us release from the curse of sadness, nor the curse of the two remembered worlds inside us, belief in magic even though they don’t exist can somehow still help us get through. It’s like faith. It drives us, motivates us, and it helps gets things done.
Magic may not be real but faith, love, and happiness is there, no matter how dark the tunnel is.
And happy endings? They’re not really endings. They are beginnings of a rollercoaster ride, this time with the one you love. Together you face life’s ups and downs, no letting go, no holding back. It’s the start of forever, which consists of today and tomorrow.
Happy endings are about being always there for each other no matter what. It’s about waking up every morning beside the one you love, getting to bed every night still beside the one you love. And looking forward the next morning to still be beside the one you love, no matter how big nor small the changes have been to the both of you.
Forever is a big word. Love is a mysterious concept. And acceptance is a brave act. But once you’ve truly found all of these, you should cherish it and be prepared to always fight for it because real world can kill you, and you’re your only savior from it.
