Everyday angels

Today as I am running late for work

I called out a cab

to catch my 7 am shift

As I entered the cab

and told where I was headed to

the driver said that our location is a bit

off beat

(hard to get out of traffic and complicated to maneuver)

but I told him not to worry

we could turn around

and turn right at the nearest corner

he said he didn’t know

that cars could pass by that tiny little street

so he thanked me

and told me

“you’re my angel on this lovely morning”

I smiled for the kind words

Little did he know is that

he’s my angel, too

for coming at the right time

since I can’t afford

to be late anymore

not today, not ever

again

As we arrived,

I thanked him before leaving

then immediately rushed to the building

went upstairs to time in

the door opened

and it’s just 7.

Exactly 7.

So I thought heh,

Angels couldn’t be more playful(and helpful)than this.
